Frequently Asked Questions on Working With Dave
What should I know about working with you?
My goal is to be the easiest speaker you've ever worked with. This process should be fun and alleviate your stress, not add to it. So, I am committed to responding quickly, always being as flexible as I can and making you look great for your decision to choose me as your speaker.
What's included in your fee?
My fee covers the event, all preparations, pre-event meetings, consultations and unlimited calls. It also includes any post-event follow-up session requested by the client. Although the fee doesn't cover travel/living costs, I'm happy to quote an all-inclusive fee that does.
Can you customize your presentation for our specific audience and event theme?
I love working with event themes, customizing attention-getting titles for keynotes and breakouts and learning all I can about your people, their challenges and the culture. Relevance is always my number one priority. Nothing else comes close.
What kind of promotional support do you offer to help market the event?
Whenever possible, I want to engage with an audience ahead of an event. I'm always happy to record video and/or provide articles and posts to be used in your own social media or internal communications platforms. And that is always a value-added at no additional cost.
How do you engage audiences post-event?
I will almost always provide the audience an opportunity to receive bonus ancillary material via a QR code offer during my program. I'm also happy to add a check-in and check-up opportunity upon request to reinforce the takeaways.
Do you offer extras (book signings, meet-and-greets)?
Absolutely. I always want the audience to come away with maximum value and access to the speaker helps that happen. Let's talk about what would best serve your attendees.
My organization has a limited budget. Do you have any flexibility in your pricing?
I know budgets came in all sizes (I was in education after all). I can't always promise that we can bridge any divide between my fees and the client's resources, but I never want money to be the only reason we can't work together so I'm willing to think out the box to make it work.
Will I receive post-event materials (slides, recordings, handouts)?
Upon request, I'm always glad to provide a PDF version of any slides as well as digital files of any handouts used.
What is your policy on event recordings and media rights?
It's a case-by-case basis and it depends on how recordings are used. Archiving for those who were absent from an event is fine. I do ask for a digital file of the recording with an understanding that I might use clips in my marketing. I also ask that any intention to record is disclosed in advance.
What are your specific travel requirements?
I prefer a flat travel allowance determined by distance and airline service. That flat fee would cover all travel and living expenses except lodging which I request to be prepaid or central-billed to the client organization. If that is not possible, I'll do my best to work with the client's process.
