Dr. Janice's Bio
Dr. Janice is a recovering union stage manager turned seasoned doctor of acupuncture and herbal medicine whose entire life has been woven through with story and its power to change our inner and outer worlds. So, when life went sideways in 2020, she began asking herself, "What is mine to do in the face of what is?" The answer came back - "Reach as many people as possible and reconnect them to their own belonging. Then show them how to carry it with them wherever they go". Thus, The Story Medic was born and with it her "stealth belonging" work. Through a combination of storytelling, humor, creative audience participation, reflection, and embodied remembrance, her audiences explore what happens when the medicine of our own belonging helps us to truly listen to one another and collectively create stories big enough for us all to live in. Every Story Medic event is different and everyone's experience of it is lasting and illuminating.
