Dr. Ann-Louise's Bio

I’m a pediatric psychologist, parent coach, thought leader, national speaker, and author of Love the Teen You Have. I empower parents and parent-focused organizations to decode resistance and turn it into connection. What looks like defiance, shutdowns, or “attitude” in teens is often something deeper. Stress, overwhelm, anxiety, mental health struggles, and developing skills show up as resistance. I work with schools, parent groups, and organizations that support families to help adults understand what teen behavior is really saying and how to respond in ways that reduce power struggles and build stronger relationships. Using practical, real-world strategies, I empower and educate parents to move from reacting to behavior to deeply understanding it. The result? More connected and empathic families, more confident and empowered parents, and teens who feel understood instead of managed.
