How attendees describe this talk
It is a must for any evaluator. I spent my first year as an assistant principal creating feedback for teachers on our state mandated platform, completing the in-school walkthrough form, completing the IB walkthrough feedback form, and then placing my walk-throughs on a google sheet to make sure I reached every teacher. This process will definitely help me use my time effectively. This is a must! Don’t leave the conference without seeing her in action.
This session gave an excellent overview of how to introduce DEI to teachers, including key terminology, current illustrations (and the issues with them), and considerations for engaging students in discussions about DEI, classroom content, and their role in the pursuing equity and justice.
I am so thankful I was able to listen to this panel. Thank you for letting me sit in on this discussion. I teach future teachers and I want ALL students to be interested in education — not just white girls. Thank you so much again.
It was great! I appreciate a space where we could learn, listen and vent to gain more information where all educators can benefit. I feel lighter and I will be looking for more sessions related to these topics. Thanks!!!
Highly engaging, informative, and interactive. Dr. Alexander made us feel empowered to master tools that are all too often and wrongly perceived as meticulous or cumbersome. They're really not! Thank you, Dr. Alexander!
Very much needed for all educators, but especially educators of color to hear relatable situations in our education spaces and how we can best support our students who look like us.
This was a great session to open my eyes to so many bias that are present. This gives simple introduction level actions to help all kids be involved in a safe environment
Great insights and engaging! Working in an equity and inclusion office at an EdTech company, this session was very validating for me.
Desiree, Thank you for this session. It is great to have an open forum, discussion of specific products. Please do this format again!
