Lance's Bio

Born into difficult circumstances, Lance lost his mom to suicide before his first birthday. He grew up paycheck to paycheck, and by 17 years old, was living on his own. Despite it all, he became a first-generation college graduate with a degree in Business & Finance, earning the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. He spent over 22 years in financial services in consulting, sales, and leadership roles—before a life-changing car accident took a man’s life and radically reoriented Lance’s path toward purpose. Today, he is a top keynote speaker, performance coach, and best-selling author of Adversity Fuels Purpose—dedicated to helping others transform adversity into purpose, impact, success, and fulfillment. In his free time, Lance enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, volunteering in his community, playing basketball, and lifting weights at the gym.

Frequently Asked Questions on Working With Lance

I am an extrovert who loves to come mix and mingle with the audience before I speak and also stay as long as I can after I speak to connect with audience members. I speak from the heart in a relatable way to connect with the audience both younger and older despite their position or background.

My standard fee includes a 45 minute keynote. I do provide a pricing discount on my book depending on the quantity.

I feel comfortable modifying my core messages to align with jargon, themes, and outcomes expected for the industry and audience.

I like to record a 60 second video to be sent out to the audience to introduce myself, provide an overview of my talk, and express my excitement to be with them soon.

My favorite time is speaking with the audience once I get off the stage, the handshakes, the hugs, the tears shed, the laughs, the photos, the connections! Count on me to speak with anyone and everyone for as long as I can.

One of my favorite add ons to offer is a post talk book signing event. The audience members appreciate an opportunity to connect with me in one to one conversation, get a signed copy of my book, snap a few photos, and stay connected online going forward.

Although I maintain a standard speaking rate, I remain open to be flexible for non profits with limited budget or for engagements that are local to Charlotte, NC or within driving distance for a day trip.

I request travel to be reimbursed to include airfare, mileage, parking, and hotel accommodations.
