Marilee's Bio
As a kid who stuttered, I learned early on about overcoming obstacles. In the 8th grade, I made a T‐Shirt with my name on it so that I didn’t have to fear saying my name when attending volleyball practice. Who would have thought just a decade later, I would have graduated with a BA in Communications and a MA in Speech Pathology. Just before I graduated, I experienced another obstacle. It was recommended that I go into a different career outside of Speech Pathology due to my stuttering. I aligned with my own truth and knew that I had to pursue my dream regardless of what others said. I have been a Speech Pathologist for over 30 years and have helped people in ways I would never have imagined! From athletics to academics, so much of what I’ve accomplished has been based on not allowing circumstances to hold me back. As a professional speaker, I bring my “overcomer” philosophy to my presentations so that others can overcome obstacles and reach their goals!

What should I know about working with you?
As a kid who stuttered, I could never imagine doing this kind of work, so I put my heart and soul into every event! Other organizations that have hired me have said that I am very proactive, organized and conscientious to work with.
What's included in your fee?
My speaking fee includes preparation, phone calls and meetings (initial/final). An initial meeting will be done where I will find out information on how to customize this event for your audience. Typically, my speaking fee and travel fee are separate but can be combined if needed.
Can you customize your presentation for our specific audience and event theme?
Always!!! My goal is to give the audience that "aha moment" where they feel a connection with me and like I am speaking to them personally . I don't believe in doing a generic Keynote or workshop but one that is tailored to that audience. It is NOT a one size fits all but fitted to your audience!
How do you engage audiences post-event?
I always provide my contact information so the audience can contact me. When an event is over, I allow time to talk with participants rather than immediately leaving. I am also happy to stay for a luncheon or dinner that is part of the event.
Will I receive post-event materials (slides, recordings, handouts)?
I can send handouts prior to the event for the organization to either make copies or provide electronically. I also put my handouts as a bonus for filling out my Talkadot survey..
What is your policy on event recordings and media rights?
For the event to be recorded, I require the terms to be specified in the agreement . I request raw and edited footage of the event in MP4 format. Recordings can be used for internal purposes within the organization. Specific terms and fees for recordings can be finalized in the agreement.
What are your specific travel requirements?
I am from Cleveland, OH so I have access to a major airport and happy to fly to your destination within the US or internationally. If the destination is close (within 2-4 hours from Cleveland), I can drive. There is a travel fee that is added based on the location of the event.
