Frequently Asked Questions on Working With Ruby
What should I know about working with you?
I love speaking & get excited for every event. I like to incorporate music when I can. I lean heavily towards audience interaction & engage them as much as possible. Time permitting, we do an activity to engage & reinforce.
What's included in your fee?
Keynotes can include a breakout session. Prep calls, promos, plus a virtual after-care session, if desired. Travel is billed separately.
Can you customize your presentation for our specific audience and event theme?
Absolutely! I customize every presentation to your organization's culture, challenges, and goals so your team gets actionable strategies they can use right away, not generic advice they'll forget.
What kind of promotional support do you offer to help market the event?
I will share the event on social media before & after your event & include selfies of the attendees I meet. I'm also happy to record a short promo video about the event.
How do you engage audiences post-event?
I like to stay until the end of the event. If I'm the closing speaker, I arrive early in the day. Post event, I can do a virtual after-care session, if desired.
Do you offer extras (book signings, meet-and-greets)?
Yes! I offer meet-and-greets. I usually travel one to two days before the event depending on the distance. I attend any pre-event gatherings & I listen to some of the other sessions so I can learn more about the organization & the issues you are dealing with.
My organization has a limited budget. Do you have any flexibility in your pricing?
Absolutely! There are often other barter items such as professional video & photos or introductions to key people from your or another organization.
Will I receive post-event materials (slides, recordings, handouts)?
I do offer post-event materials, depending on your needs and desires.
What is your policy on event recordings and media rights?
I'm okay with live event recording if it is housed behind a firewall & it stays live for a limited period of time (6 - 12 months). Virtual event recordings may incur an additional fee & must meet the same hosting and time frame requirements of live events.
What are your specific travel requirements?
Coach airfare (Comfort Plus or it's equivalent), 2 or 3 nights' hotel, depending on how far away the event is, ground transportation & meals. For travel in North Carolina, mileage reimbursement at current federal rates apply.
