Super supportive information that really helps ECE educators evaluate their social biases. Our industry is part of a larger movement that must reflect on older standards. We must breakdown systems and restructure with equity as a forefront
I would tell a friend to look up Dr. Eakins and listen to this amazing speaker. I love the real life experiences that are shared, the awareness of opening our eyes to the individualism of children.
It presents potentially difficult material in a compassionate manner when engaged me & is very thought-provoking in regards to internal bias without being either accusatory or dismissive.
Sheldon presented an eye opening presentation on Asset-Based Pedagogy. My biggest take away is to teach to each child. Everyone has a different lens to how we view the world.

I really appreciate how Sheldon organically addressed the remote participants by rephrasing the IRL commenters & responding to the comments in the chat.
You really had a lot of wise conversations with your students that you gave examples of and it will help me in my future teaching
Just that the virtual audience couldn't hear the questions asked by those in person so some context was lost
So more activities with teachers to get them more involved
