What's changing on Talkadot
Planners want more proof than ever. Your verified attendee feedback is that proof, and we call it your Proof Equity. It now does more of the selling for you. To run payments for you, we updated our terms, the same kind Square and other payment services use.
They apply once you accept them in the app, or on November 4, 2026, whichever comes first.
What stays the same
- Your profile, your leads and your attendee feedback stay yours.
- Talkadot takes no fee on clients you bring.
- We never sell your leads, and we only email your audience through follow-ups you control.
What Talkadot charges on a booking
On the clients you bring, Talkadot takes nothing. They come from your network, your website, your audience, or a link to your Talkadot profile that you shared.
| Booking | Talkadot fee | Talent Agreement |
|---|---|---|
| A client you brought, paid through your contract | None. You pay only card or bank processing, at cost, with no markup. | Sections 3.3(b) and 3.6 |
| A client you brought, booked and paid outside Talkadot | None. | Section 3.5 |
| A client Talkadot introduced you to, through our speaker search, your Talkadot profile in search engine results, or a recommendation or introduction from us | 20% of the engagement fee on Pro or Elite, 30% on Free or Essentials. | Section 3.3(a) |
If a client disputes a payment
When a client gets a chargeback or a refund on your booking, that payment is reversed, along with any fee the card processor charges for it, even when someone paid with a stolen card. This is how card payments normally work. We may reverse the transfer, take it from a future payout, debit your payout bank account, or send you an invoice. If we make a processing error, we fix it. (Talent Agreement, Section 3.8)
What else changed
How does my client pay?
Online through your contract, by ACH or card, into your payout account. When your client saves a card, each payment is charged on its due date. Your client can turn this off, but still owes the payment. (Talent Agreement, Section 3.1; Client Agreement, Section 3.6)
Can Talkadot hold a payout before it goes out?
Yes, to guard against fraud and chargebacks, for example on a new account, after a change to your login or bank account, or for a payment that looks like fraud. This can apply to your first and final payouts on a booking. When the reason for the hold no longer applies, we release the money, minus anything we had to recover, and tell you by email or in the app. Held money doesn't earn interest. A hold can start before we talk to you. (Talent Agreement, Sections 3.4.2, 3.4.3, 3.9 and 8.2)
If I owe money back, how fast do you collect it?
Right away. The 45 days we normally allow to work out a disagreement don't apply to money owed after a reversed payment. (Talent Agreement, Section 15.1)
What do you record when a client accepts your contract?
So you can show your client agreed if a payment is ever disputed, we record the name and title they enter, the time, and their IP address and device. (Client Agreement, Section 2.10)
What counts as misusing contracts?
Sending Booking Confirmations to anyone who isn't a real client, test or fake charges, charging your own card or a card you aren't allowed to use, and moving money for anything other than the booking. Your payout details must be accurate and in your name. If something looks wrong, we may limit sending, hold, cancel or refund a payment, suspend the account, and report it to Stripe or the authorities. (Terms of Service, Section 5)
Do you withhold tax?
Only when the law requires it. We may hold a payout until we get the tax forms we ask for. (Talent Agreement, Section 17)
Does this apply to bookings I already have?
Partly. For bookings confirmed before November 4, 2026, the sections on payment reversals and payout holds still apply to any payout not yet made, and to any reversal after you accept the new terms. (Talent Agreement, Section 19)
What do AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude see?
When one recommends speakers through Talkadot, it uses only public profiles. If you connect your own account, it sees only what the connection screen lists. (Terms of Service, Section 21.1; Privacy Policy, Section 3.9)
If I delete my data, is everything gone?
Almost. We delete it, except what the law requires us to keep, records for payment disputes, fraud and legal claims, and routine backups. (Data Processing Agreement, Section 5(f))
