How Talkadot earns money from bookings

Leads from your speaking engagements are yours. We don't touch them, and we don't send people who want to book you to other speakers unless you ask us to.

A booking fee applies when

  • We introduced you. The client first found you through Talkadot: our speaker search, your Talkadot profile in a web search, a recommendation from us, or an introduction we made.
  • You ask us to negotiate for you.

No booking fee when

  • The booking came from your own work, like your network, your website, or someone in your audience.
  • You use Talkadot only to send the Booking Confirmation and collect payment. You pay just the payment processing cost.

When your client uses Talkadot

Your leads and fees are never used to contact anyone.

You send them somethingA feedback request, their results, or a Booking Confirmation. We use their details to deliver it.
They can keep a copyIf they want to keep their feedback, they can create an account to manage it.
Then they're a Talkadot userThey agree to our terms, and their account works like any other planner account.

Talkadot also works with associations on feedback for their own events. Those relationships come from our own marketing and partners, never from your leads or your fees.

What we learn from the data

What we do

  • Combine records from thousands of speaking engagements into anonymous industry benchmarks, such as our State of the Speaking Industry report.
  • Show ranges and medians, including where fees go higher than the median.

What we never show

  • One speaker, one client, or one fee.
  • Any group too small to stay anonymous. We leave it out.

For the organizations you speak to

Your clients may ask what happens to their people's information. You can send them this section.

  • Attendees decide whether to share contact details. They can give feedback without them.
  • Contact details go only to the speaker the attendee asked to hear from. Talkadot does not sell them.
  • Names and organizations are published only with the attendee's permission.
  • Talkadot contacts people at the host organization about Talkadot only after they create their own Talkadot account.
  • Questions from your legal, compliance, or IT team: [email protected]

Questions speakers ask us

Can my clients use Talkadot to find speakers?

Yes, but only if they look for one themselves, by searching for speakers from a Talkadot planner account. Your profile can appear in that search too, backed by the verified feedback you've collected.

Will Talkadot contact my clients?

We contact your clients to deliver what you send them through Talkadot, like a feedback request, their results, or a Booking Confirmation. If they want to keep a copy of their feedback, they can create an account to manage it. Beyond that, we contact them only if they choose to create their own Talkadot account, from our invite or on their own, and agree to our terms. Your leads and fees are never used to contact anyone.

Do your terms let you sell my leads?

No. Our Privacy Policy says: "We do not sell your personal information or the personal information of your attendees and leads." Our Terms of Service (Section 17.1) say you keep ownership of your leads and attendee feedback.

Can other speakers or bureaus see my clients?

No. You choose who sees your past events: everyone, verified planners only, or no one. If you join a group, such as a speaker team or organization account, its admins see that group's events, including fees.

What happens when someone scans my code?

Attendees answer a short survey about your session. Sharing contact details is their choice. The standard survey includes a "No thank you" option, and only people who say yes become leads.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. You can view and download your leads up to your plan's lead limit. Leads beyond the limit stay in your account and unlock when you upgrade. (Terms of Service, Section 17.1)
