Changing your Bonus on an existing Code

Hey everyone!

Today I want to talk about changing your Bonus on an existing Survey Code. I’ve got a nice video for you from Arel that you can find below, but I also will be mapping it out below the video as well.

Also, I want to answer a few quick questions at the top!

Can you edit / change / swap the bonus of an existing survey code and keep using it? Yes! As long as you don’t change the name of the code itself (or your Talkadot Account Handle) the QR code will stay the same, and you can keep using it!

Will this have any effect on already collected data? Nope! Even if you delete questions from a survey that you asked previously, this won’t effect the answers that have already come in. Once the data is collected, its effectively no longer tied to that survey code, and any changes to the code are future facing only.

What if I want to change the bonus and the event happened two hours ago? That’s fine, that won’t effect what your audience saw in the event earlier. However, changing the survey code bonus in this instance would change what bonus the audience receives if you have the automated followup system turned on. The system checks the code when it sends the email, so it will use whatever bonus is attached at that time.

To change the bonus on a survey code, first you need to go to ‘Get Feedback’, and click the three dots to the right of the code in question, and select ‘Edit Code’:

Then you can click through to the ‘Bonus’ option at the very end of the survey, and you’ll click the trash can to the right of the your file to delete it, after which point you can upload a new file:

Again, once you’ve done that, you can still use the same QR code, and nothing needs to be changed!
